Newman College Year 10 Outdoor Education Page

This page has been created to provide resources for parents and students taking part in the Newman College Year 10 Outdoor Education programme in October 2023. Outdoor Discoveries is excited to be working with Newman College to provide this experience for the Year 10 students.

The programme is an expedition style programme which means the students will be packing all their essentials into backpacks, cooking on camp stoves, camping in tents, moving between campsites each day, and taking part in a range of different activities during the day. Some of these activities include hiking, canoeing, adventure caving and learning about the local Indigenous culture.

Students will be working in groups of 18-19 people and will be supported by a teacher from Newman College and an experienced outdoor instructor from Outdoor Discoveries.

All groups will be supported by a logistics team made up of Newman staff and Outdoor Discoveries staff that will be on call 24 hours a day throughout the programme.
